Few dyslexic students benefiting from an online tool that’s costing Texas millions

Dyslexia: News from the web:

The Texas Education Agency has bought a service from a company but not everyone is happy with it yet.

The company began charging the state for $410,000 a month in October for the online platform before any students signed up for it and before any school districts were asked to participate. Critics say too few children are getting help for too great a cost, especially because districts must still pay their instructors to work with students using the platform.

Many Texas school districts do not use the curriculum offered by the service, which advocates say could make them less likely to sign up for it.
